Wednesday Workout Wrap Up {December 10 – 16, 2014}

Welcome back to the Wednesday Friday Workout Wrap Up. I have officially hit my holiday crazy and am finding it hard to keep up with my routine. That’s not to say I’m not having fun… because I am! Lots and lots of fun. But it’s hard to fit in workouts when you have Polar Express Train Ride dates with your two year old. The past 10 days has been a good reminder of why I do the #RWRunStreak. Even if there is no time to hit the gym for a lifting session, there is always time to run one mile… and that’s pretty much all I have been doing.

I waited until after work (which was 9:00 pm) to go for my run. I cannot express how badly I did NOT want to get out of my car to go to the gym, but I did it. The original plan was one mile, but I felt so great that I did two.

Just a mile during my dinner break. I thought I would try running while I listened to my audio book. It was really hard! I kept tripping over the machine. Ha! Would this get easier if I kept trying? 🙂

I had signed my husband, myself, and our two year old up for the Ugly Sweater Run in Philly. We had our outfits all picked out and we were ready! Lately my son has insisted “no more stroller”. “I run” he tells me. Great! I left the BOB at home and decided I would let him “run”. I figure we could walk as a family and then my husband and I could take turns carrying Dax when he needed a break. Yeahhhhhhh. The race didn’t happen.

It was really really cold and Dax had the most epic meltdown I have ever seen. His crying was so bad that he scared me and I thought maybe something was really wrong. Nope. I just don’t know how to dress a two year old warmly on a cold day. {#momfail} Luckily, Daddy was there to take us all to Perkins for a post race breakfast! Pancakes make everything better.

I ended up going out later that night and running one mile to keep my #RWRunStreak alive.

I went to the gym to run after work at 9:00 pm. I ended up running four miles in under 40 minutes. This was a BIGGGGG deal for me!

One quick mile in the morning. I was exhausted from running the night before, but I wanted to get the mile done so I could enjoy our train ride with Santa as a family that afternoon.{The face your son makes when he realizes he’s not actually going to the North Pole. Sorry dude.}

Totals:

11 miles of running. No lifting. Way too much eating.

I’m expecting this upcoming week to remain slow with workouts, but December 31 I plan to talk a bit about my goals and plans for 2015. All fun stuff! I the meantime, have a great weekend and enjoy your holidays!
