Sew Fantastic Show Off {The Library Tote}

I have been obsessed with The Purl Bee’s Twenty Minute Tote for the last several years.  I have used this tutorial to make Christmas presents for my coworkers and teach children through adults at my library how to sew.  It is my go to project for novice sewers and is ALWAYS a crowd favorite.  I have probably made this bag close to 10 times and I have never once posted about it.  Well, today that changes!

I have been promising a friend, and fellow librarian, that I would make her two children library bags {because everyone needs a great bag when you pick up library books} FOREVER.  I hardcore caught the sewing bug this past weekend and went in search of fabric for her son and daughter.

This is a super easy project and both bags were made while watching Guardians of the Galaxy.  At one point I even thought to myself, “Dude, Christen, you could sell these” but then I remembered that I do not have an entrepreneurial bone in my body.

The bags went home to their new owners a few days later and I think everyone is super happy…

bagsNow they just need to come visit their mom at the library and throw some books in those bags!
