2015 Reading Challenge {Week Eight}

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s going to be a two post day {woot!}, beginning with my weekly 2015 reading challenge update.  I can’t believe how fast I’m reading this year, but I have started some fabulous books that don’t want to be put down.  I read two INCREDIBLE books this week and am excited to share them with all of you.

The first book I finished was Paula Hawkins’ Girl on the Train. I started it, and my son’s potty training, on the same day.  🙂  I first heard of this book on my blog when a woman mentioned it as her favorite book she read recently.  I looked it up and was sold as soon as I heard the two words: Hitchcockian thriller.

The characters are all a hot mess and not really likable, but the story grabbed me fast, and I looked forward to picking this book up whenever I got the chance.  If you enjoyed Gone Girl, you will LOVE The Girl on the Train.  Just be prepared to not want to do anything else until you finish.

The second book I read this week was E. Lockhart’s We Were Liars.  I had actually not heard of this book until I started prepping for my 2015 YA March Madness display.  I use Goodreads’ lists to create my brackets and was really intrigued by the description of this book, plus the fact that it had a waiting list on it at the library.  I don’t want to give too much away.  It’s very rare that a book shocks me {I figured out the ending of The Girl on the Train pretty fast}, but this book totally took me by surprise.  If I had to describe it in one word, I would say haunting.  I finished yesterday and still can’t stop thinking about it.  It’s worth picking up and reading.  I promise.

Next week we’re going to talk about the book I read that has an author who shares my initials.  And maybe I’ll finally get around to finishing my trilogy requirement.  Maybe.

Happy Friday everyone!

    • I have heard bad things about Wild so I will not be reading it. 🙂

      I read Delerium forever ago. I liked it, but I guess not enough to finish the series. Maybe one day I’ll pick it back up.

      I just looked up Hourglass Squared. Is it any good?
