Weekly Workout Wrap Up

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great week and a super Mother’s Day if you celebrate.

I’m still moving along with the Fit Girls Guide 28 Day Jump Start and it’s going great. I’m not losing inches quite as fast, but I feel better every day and see a difference in my energy levels, sleep, and confidence. All good things! Here’s my review of last week:

Monday, May 4, 2015 IMG_2791I spent Monday’s lunch break at the gym for some upper body strength training.  I think my ultimate upper body goal is to be able to do unassisted pull ups.  One day!

Tuesday, May 5, 2015 IMG_2812I had planned to do lower body strength training today, but it didn’t happen. Normally this would throw off my entire day and I would just not work out at all. I’m trying to do better about adapting and ended up going for a 25 minute run. Plus, I got to wear my awesome new shirt. 🙂

Rest Day

Thursday, May 7, 2015 IMG_2846The gym was supposed to happen during my dinner break, but I wasn’t feeling it, so I ended up going after I got done work at 9:00 p.m for more upper body strength training.  Oh yeah!

Friday was lower body strength training and core work at the gym. I’m also trying to up my gym selfie game. On a serious note, I need to focus more on lower body work to improve my running. Gotta strengthen those glutes.IMG_2879 I also got a new toy this week! And Friday I hit all my fitness goals that I set with my Apple Watch. Yay!

Saturday, May 9, 2015 IMG_2893Saturday I took part in the Fit Girl’s Guide Virtual 5K. This was my longest distance I have ran since getting injured in January, and it felt pretty great. The slowness makes me a bit sad, but I know with consistency and hard work I will get back to where I was before my injury. I also decided to test out the Apple Watch versus my Garmin. Ehhhh. I tend to want to believe the Garmin since it had me going faster and burning more calories, but I think I will need a few more comparisons before I really know.

Sunday, May 10, 2015 IMG_2921Mother’s Day = Rest Day!

Totals:
-One 25 minute run and one 3.1 mile run
-Three strength training sessions {two upper body sessions and and one lower body session}

Thoughts:

It was a great week. I had some excellent workouts and some very yummy food. I think I’m finding a better balance between my healthy self and my every day crazy self. All good things.

So speaking of food:

Breakfast for the week was Apple Pie Fridge Oats IMG_2883

Lunch was the Quinoa Cleanse Bowl IMG_2858

Dinners consisted of the Super Foods Pizza… IMG_2817

….and the Girl Cheese IMG_2795

For fun I decided to see how I looked in the same outfit with a seven week difference. I see some changes!  YAY!!!IMG_2900 IMG_2901 And lastly, here are this week’s measurements: IMG_2925I’m now down a total of 5 pounds and 8.25 inches and I can’t wait to see what I total out at next week.

Have a great week, everyone!

  1. You had an AWESOME week and you are killing your challenge. I wish I could get results like that, I feel like I am killing myself and eating really well and am a standstill–so frustrating, but I will get there eventually! I love your new tank, its amazing! I am interested to hear more about your watch…I have read mixed things about it. I have a big Apple gift card, but I don’t “really” need anything so I could use it to buy the watch or maybe I will just hold onto it for the future…decisions, decisions! 🙂

    • I love the Apple watch, but am still on the fence with it for running. Right now, it’s fine, but it doesn’t have all the awesomeness of my Garmin. It’s still pretty great though.

  2. Well, I feel like an idiot because I didn’t realize you had a blog! How did I not know this? Anyway, it’s super cute and I’m going to be reading it now! Love the apple watch. I am very curious to see how accurate it is compared to the Garmin.

    • No worries. I forget I have a blog all the time. I’m so sporadic with my posting.

I LOVE my Apple watch. It’s like 0.02 off per mile, but my only big complaint is I don’t get splits. I’m going to try a third party app on the watch and see if that helps.
