Maker Mondays {DoodleBot360}

I decided to try some new teen programming ideas this summer under the title Maker Mondays. Last Monday we looked at Scratch {Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world) and tonight we made DoodleBot360s.

The DoodleBot360 is a “simple vibrobot” made from old CDs, markers, and dollar store electric toothbrushes. You can find the assembly instructions here. My husband gave me a crash course on our drill last night and I was able to teach the tweens/teens so they did all of the work themselves. {On a sidenote, I kind of want to start a Girls’ Power Tools Club now!}

Check us out!!!

And just for fun, here’s the DoodleBot360 I made last night at home with my husband and son.  I think Dax’s reaction really captures the awesomeness of the project.

Thanks for dropping by…
