  1. Christen, first of all, I love the blog! As a fellow librarian and boy mom, there is a lot here to like! Secondly, you have inspired me to do something about my weight/health. My little man is 17 months now, and I feel that it is time to stop looking and feeling pregnant! Do you have any tips for a newbie on how to ease my way into a routine? I am trying to cut out certain obvious bad for you items, like soda, but I would appreciate some easy exercise tips or any advice you have on staying motivated. I have never been one to diet or exercise. Before my pregnancy I was one of the fortunate ones who could eat whatever she wanted and not move from the couch and maintain a size 6 figure. Now, not so much! Thanks, and thanks for the blog! Also, hang in there, summer reading will be over before you know it!

    • Hi Faye! Thank you for the kind words. When it comes to fitness, I think you just need to find something that makes you happy. For me, that’s running, although I’m starting to enjoy lifting, and Zumba is always a great time. When I first started to lose weight, I would write down everything I ate. I didn’t track, but I wanted to keep a record of what I was putting in my mouth. From there I started calorie counting, trying to eat better foods, and I’m currently now counting my macros. I have set backs, but then I get back on track. I’m mostly just trying to appreciate the journey. Good luck to you on yours!
