What a crazy week. Last Sunday I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection that definitely put me out of commission. I ended up taking Monday off from work, having my mom come over to watch Dax, and being a lazy bum in my bed. It was glorious. gym-workout-motivational-quotesI mentioned in Saturday’s post that my fitness took a major dive when I started my new job in August. I tried to get back on track during the holidays by taking part in the #RWRunStreak, but ended up have to take Cipro {an antibiotic} for an infection. Turns out you can’t do any strenuous activity {read: run} while taking Cipro because one of the side effects of the drug is tendon rippage.   Continue reading

Weekly Workout Wrap Up

Wow!  It’s been a loooooong time since I did any kind of workout check in.  That makes me sad. 🙁

Hurting my knee was rough. Not only was I in pain, but I lost all motivation to exercise. I also started eating all the foods.  It’s my vicious cycle. I mentioned in my Hot Chocolate 15K wrap up that walking that race was a real eye opening experience for me. Seeing the pictures from after the race was also a slap in the face. I gained 20 pounds in several months, lost my confidence in my ability to do hard things, and felt all around terrible. I decided it was time to make a new commitment to myself and my health.

The Chili Run: January 25, 2015 {Race Recap}


I decided in December that I was going to start recapping my races for 2015.  I ran some great events last year in the Philly/South Jersey area and I wanted to share my future events with all of you.  I also want to do a better job of recording my race memories, times, and experiences.  I love to run and I think racing is the best thing ever.  It’s important to me to do a better job of recording those memories.   Continue reading
